    Sponsoring Full Throttle Festival 2009

    July 23rd, 2009

    festivalweb.jpg

Liberty Drums will be sponsoring this years fantastic event.  Each band will get to use a top of the range custom maple kit on the main stage.  Cant wait.  Check out http://www.fullthrottlefestival.co.uk/3.html

    A  little about the event:

    The Story of Full Throttle….

Early 2006, a small group of people from Bishop Auckland decided to put together a local festival for the young bands of the area. With 12 bands over 2 days the festival attracted around 150 people. 2007 The festival grew again, and 2008 the festival went to the next level by adding to the line up a small acoustic tent which doubled up as a dance tent and the festival attracted over 450 people. So with 2009 upon us we are growing again to 4 stage’s with 50 different acts from all over the UK and possible some overseas friends playing as well.

    2009 Stages

    Main Stage - Bands 11am - 11pm / 11pm - 2am Close

    Guerrilla Tent - Bands 1pm - 10pm / Mod Ska Regage DJ Till 2am

    New Band Stage - Bands 1pm - 10pm / Electro indie DJ Till 2am

    Acoustic Tent - Acts 12pm - 1pm / 11pm - 12am / Mix Mash DJ Till 2am

This year will be a year to remember!!!!

We hope to see you there!

    Stick it to MS

    July 7th, 2009

    Guinness Book of Records

We will be taking part in this Guinness Book of Records event for the largest full drum kit ensemble at Birmingham’s NIA.

The event will be raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis society so we have chosen a 14 year old promising drummer Zack street to represent Liberty drums who is already working hard to raise sponsorship.  You can easily donate using www.justgiving.com/zackstreet and make a difference.

The current world record consisting of 533 drummers was set at “Woodstick 2006″ at the Qwest Event Centre, Seattle, Washington, USA, on 13 May 2006, under the direction of Sam Blumenthal (USA).
Woodstick was the brain child of Chris Kimball and co founder Don Bennett of Bennett Drum Studios and is now an annual event.
2008’s event took place over 9 cities across America and Canada. Over a thousand people participated in the event but the record for ‘Largest full drum kit ensemble’ still stands at 533
This year will see the UK’s first attempt at this record.
